Voting for the Triple J Hottest 100 is now open once again for the current year.
The voting period for the hotly fought music poll in Australia began this morning at 8 a.m. and will go through Monday, January 23, at 12 p.m. AEDT.
The Hottest 200-101 countdown will happen as usual on Friday, January 27, at 10 a.m. AEDT, the day before the main countdown. The Hottest 100 will then be made public on January 28 at 12 p.m. AEDT.
Double J will then wrap off the weekend by reflecting on the Hottest 100 of 2002, where Queens of the Stone Age triumphed with their alternative rock single "No One Knows" against stiff opposition from acts like Grinspoon and The Vines.
The "Hottest 100" music videos of 2022 will be ranked on RAGE the following weekend. Below is a helpful list of all the significant dates.
This year, Triple J wants to help the Australian Conservation Foundation (ACF) by raising money.
The ACF is a national environmental group whose goal is to address the climate issue.
Fans may assist by giving to the ACF or by purchasing a Hottest 100 t-shirt for $45 to support the cause. All money raised will be used to support ACF's funding of important environmental initiatives.
The Wiggles, a well-known children's group, took first place in the most recent Hottest 100 with their psychedelic rendition of Tame Impala's legendary psych-rock anthem "Elephant," which they blended with their own famous song "Fruit Salad."
That allowed them to defeat triple j favourites like Gang of Youths and Spacey Jane as well as pop superstars like Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish, and Lil Nas X.
