The CMA Awards were awarded on Wednesday night, and country music had a party.
Lainey Wilson, a first-time contender, topped the list of nominees before the programme and concluded the night with big awards, including new artist of the year and female vocalist of the year.
"I realise I'm new to a lot of people," Wilson said in one victory speech, "but I promise you I won't let y'all all down."
Luke Combs had a huge night as well, gracing the stage as both a performer and a winner. Combs was named performer of the year and album of the year.
The evening began with a poignant homage to Loretta Lynn, performed by Miranda Lambert, Reba McEntire, and Carrie Underwood. Jerry Lee Lewis, who died last month at the age of 87, was also paid tribute to in a performance by Elle King and The Black Keys.
Kelly Clarkson, who performed with Kelsea Ballerini and Carly Pearce, and Luke Bryan, who doubled as a presenter alongside Peyton Manning, were among the other performers.
Dierks Bentley and Wilson were among the many performers who took the stage to pay tribute to Alan Jackson, who received the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award.
