The event will take place at the Ocoee Lakeshore Center on Thursday, November 10, at 11 a.m.

According to a news release, this will be the city's first in-person commemoration since the COVID-19 epidemic began.

First Sgt. Espeut-Jones, a former combat veteran who served in the United States Army for 22 years, will speak during the event. Espeut-Jones now serves on the Veterans Advisory Councils of the Mayors of Orlando and Orange County.

The agenda stated, "She is an active member of the Orlando Buffalo Soldiers Motorbike Club and rides a 2013 Can-Am Spyder motorcycle."

The Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star, the Army Achievement Medal, the Army Accommodation Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Humanitarian Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expedition Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal are among the awards Sgt. Espeut-Jones has received.

Sherri Gladney, an Ocoee resident, will perform the National Anthem, while the Ocoee Middle School Wind Ensemble will perform a modest repertoire of songs and a member of the high school band will do Taps.

The Ocoee Police and Fire Department Honor Guards will both be present to execute the presentation of colors and bring a wreath to the city's memorial wall.

Following the event, those in attendance will be able to enjoy some refreshments.
