'Manifest' Season 4's Surprise Return Explained
Manifest Season 4 has officially arrived on Netflix, with the first half of the final season now available. The mystery drama is larger and bolder than ever before, confirming certain hypotheses while raising new ones and delving further into the drama of Cal's (now played by Ty Doran) abrupt ageing and Grace's (Athena Karkanis) death. However, with Ben (Josh Dallas) preoccupied with locating his daughter Eden, who has been kidnapped by 828er Angelina Meyer (Holly Taylor), Olive (Luna Blaise) is left mainly alone to deal with the weight of delving into the ancient mythology underlying the callings.
This isn't the first time the character has been separated from the show's other main characters. Olive is in an intriguing circumstance, yet she is often neglected, especially in Season 4 thus far. It's the return of a previously recurrent character at the conclusion of the batch of episodes that brings her story back to lifentTJ Morrison (Garrett Wareing).
Who Is TJ?
TJ was mostly featured in Manifest's second season; he was introduced as a college student and passenger on Airplane 828, coping with life without his mother, who committed suicide after the flight vanished. He grows close to the Stones, assisting them in their investigation of the callings after meeting Ben during one, which leads to his imprisonment when it appears that he committed murder. Ben, of course, defends him, as do the rest of the Stones, who serve as TJ's "family."
He remains for the duration of Season 2, but departs in the penultimate episode for Egypt to search for additional artefacts related to the callings and explore their relation to Egyptian mythology. To that purpose, TJ gives the Stones a picture that aids Olive in recognising the concept that would become known as the lifeboat: the idea that passengers are assessed by the Divine Consciousness in its whole.
How Does TJ Return?
TJ surprises Olive in the eighth episode, "Full Upright and Locked Position," when his studies take him back to New York to look for omega sapphire. Olive's name-drops and pre-episode summaries offered the audience a refresher on the 828er provided some foreshadowing and build-up.The two instantly restart their love relationship, with the entire return being a romantic gesture. This marks the beginning of her emotional journey for the season, which has only two episodes left at the time of TJ's return. Prior to this, Olive was not permitted to have much of a reaction to the seismic occurrences that separated her family, other than being a sounding board for the rest of them. Season 4 elevates her to the status of supporting character. She is free to feel and express her feelings in a more honest way with TJ than with other of her family members.
TJ's entrance, however, does more than merely spice up Olive's tale for the final season (though he certainly does that! ); he adds to the pool of information the Stones have at their disposal to grasp the Divine Consciousness. He is, however, much more of a supporting character in this regard, filling tiny gaps while Olive is in charge of explaining the mythos.
TJ's return is one of the milestones that Manifest must achieve now that it has completed its season. Despite the fact that TJ returns home at the conclusion of the first set of episodes, his presence is cherished despite his late arrival. He makes Olive's tale at least slightly more intriguing by allowing her to express all of the familial pain she's absorbed as a result of her helpful nature and by providing her with a committed companion to bounce ideas off of when interpreting cluese. one that is unlikely to get drawn into other narratives Olive's kid is TJ.
